How mobile-friendly is your website?

16 maart 2019 | by Martijn Visser

On April 21, it's happening. That's when Google will roll out its much-discussed update. If your site isn't 'mobile-friendly' by then, you're guaranteed to lose valuable positions in search results. Google will prioritize websites that do meet the mobile accessibility standards. Webmasters and site owners, take note!

Take the mobile-friendliness test yourself

Google has placed an online test where you can easily check whether your website is suitable for mobile devices or not. If you take the test, you'll immediately see whether you meet Google's requirements for your website after April 21. These requirements relate to readability, the spacing between links, and the so-called 'viewport', the way dimensions and scalability are communicated to the browser.

Mobile-friendly?

Congratulations! Your website meets the standards Google sets. Still unsure about findability? Contact an expert at Webkracht and discuss the results with them.

Not mobile-friendly?

Websites from a few years ago are probably no longer as mobile-friendly as the current standard. If your website doesn't meet Google's mobile-friendly standards, your search engine ranking—and thus your visitor numbers—will decline!
Poor mobile-friendliness always has a negative impact on your SEO!
